Sky Aviation Holdings (SAH), a family of companies offering an all-in-one solution for legacy light-jets, announced the completion of a client’s Citation Ultra interior and exterior refurbishment.

Broker, Kyle McConnell, consulted on the acquisition. The plane was offered with baseline changes, including new seats and carpet. As the deal progressed, the client learned about the different upgrade options offered by SAH. Kyle’s expertise helped turn this once dated plane into a modern, high-class business jet.

The aircraft offered more than just surface upgrades. Through our affiliate, TBO Extension, led by Jim Clifford, we were able to extend the engine-life an additional 2,000 hours. Using an FAA Approved STC to install Data Recording equipment and an ICA to modify the existing chapter 5 maintenance manual allowing legally approved engine life extension for Pratt & Whitney JT15D engines. TBO Extension outweighs the alternative of engine overhauls ten-fold and keeps these legacy aircraft flying. This saved the owner a costly overhaul and kept the project within budget.

Original Primus 1000 avionics were upgraded to the new Sky View System. This replaced the DU-870 tubes with DU-875 displays and the existing Com/Nav units were replaced by Dual AeroNav 910 GPS/FMS/WAAS/LPV units and the addition of maps, charts and blue-tooth connectivity. TBO Extension’s Sky View System not only provides pilots with upgraded flight equipment but also increases safety. Insurance companies will take these upgrades into consideration when providing an insurance quote, further satisfying the needs of the owner.

Achieving an interior design that is both beautiful and compliant with FAA regulations can be a challenge. But when the right team comes together, anything is possible. Such was the case for this project. Paul Pinoargote, of Sky Aviation Holdings, worked closely with interior designer Shay Greyer, owner of IBB Design Fine Furnishings, to create the overall design plans. Once all aspects of the design were finalized, Interior Design Group fulfilled the interior completion. The combined efforts brought the owner’s vision to life while satisfying FAA regulations.

Lush 3-tone custom carpet flows throughout the cabin pulling the color scheme throughout. Leather ebony sidewalls and piano black wood accents draw your attention to the soft white seats and headliner. Diamond teal stitching in the seats and satin chrome finishes complement the two-tone interior contrast. Carbon fiber drink rails personify the masculine design.

Passenger touch points, including high-speed internet and LED lighting, were all upgraded to accommodate the business needs of the owner. Providing the right lighting is an important aspect not only for the design, but also for the needs of the client.

A striking paint job embodies the same interior boldness and masculinity. Silver envelops the entire body of the aircraft. Teal angled stripes with black arching lines behind the teal wrap the aircraft from the nose to tail including the engine cowlings. This fully customized, head turning paint job was accomplished thanks to Okeechobee Paint Center.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the finished product. Our team worked diligently to bring this creation to life. This Citation is a contributing factor to our future growth plans to accommodate more refits,” says Tom Conlan. “We’re expanding into a 60,000 Sq. Ft. Facility at our Lexington, NC location to accommodate avionics and interior completions in addition to our current maintenance services.”

“We offered this plane for sale with basic upgrades and no expectations of what it became. Working with clients of this caliber brings a legacy aircraft, like this one, back to life. Incorporating the latest technologies with highly-personalized preferences, we can deliver a like-new plane at fraction of the cost of a new plane.” adds Mr. Pinoargote.
