If you’re in the market for a Beechjet 400A or are just curious about what they’re like to fly, you’ve come to the right place.
Sky Aviation Holdings is the #1 buyer and seller of Beechjet 400A’s. We’ll give you a rundown of everything you need to know about the Beechjet 400A. We’ll start with its history, specs, performance, and cost, then move on to its features, cabin amenities, and updates offered by our family of companies. By the end of this post, you’ll know everything there is to know about the Beechjet 400A!
The Beechjet 400A has been in production for over 30 years, during which time it has been sold under a variety of names, including the Mitsubishi Diamond/Diamond II, Beechjet 400/400A, and Hawker 400XP. The Beechjet 400/400A, now known as the Hawker 400XP, is a light business jet that was initially designed and built by Mitsubishi. It has since been further developed by the Beech Aircraft Company, which is now part of Textron Aviation.
The Beechjet 400 model was a light jet aircraft produced by Beechcraft between 1986 and 2002. The airplane was popular for its fuel efficiency and low operating costs, making it a very successful light private jet. In 1994, Beechcraft released the Beechjet 400A, which modified the original model. Some of the upgrades included increased payload and ceiling; greater maximum landing weight; 150 lb. more fuel storage; greater cabin volume; a rear lavatory; and improved cabin soundproofing. The Beechjet 400A is a more fuel-efficient, roomier, and a more comfortable aircraft than its predecessor.
When it comes to cost, the BeechJet 400A is one of the most affordable private light jets on the market today. Prices for a BeechJet 400A start at around $500,000. At this price point, it allows for customizations and upgrades while staying under $1,000,000.
The Beechjet 400A has a proven track record of performance. It is typically used for short-haul flights and can seat up to 8 passengers. Depending on headwinds, altitude, temperatures, and cargo capacity, the Beechjet 400A has a maximum range of 1547 miles and a maximum speed of 539 mph.
It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney of Canada JT15D engines. The JT15D engine is a low-bypass turbofan engine that was introduced in 1971. It has a relatively simple design and is known for its reliability and fuel efficiency. The JT15D-5 engines have a thrust of 2,900 lbf each and has an inspection interval of 3,500 hours, which is relatively high compared to other engines, which means increased TBO or Time Between Overhaul.
This legacy jet has remained attractive to owners due to its sleek and modern design. The cabin is spacious and can comfortably seat 8 passengers. The cabin has a width of 5.2 feet, a height of 4.9 feet, and a length of 16.1 feet. The Beechjet 400A has standard features that include club seating, an aft lavatory, and refreshment center.
Sky Aviation Holdings offers a variety of services that are designed to keep the legacy Beechjet 400A running smoothly and efficiently.
TBO Extension offers the only FAA-approved, 2000-hour turbine engine life extension for Beechjet 400A’s.
To put this into perspective, if an aircraft is flown 250 hours a year, that’s 8 years of life added to the plane before an overhaul is required.
Adding TBO Extension increases the safety, value, and longevity of the aircraft, therefore allowing extended use at a fraction of the cost of buying a new jet.
Why stop at the engines? With SkyView Avionics, you can update your flight deck to the latest technology. This upgrade increases safety while lowering operating costs.
SkyView Avionics offers the SkyView 1000 package. This package consists of replacing the obsolete Primus 1000 DU-870 tubes with DU-875 Displays and the existing Com/Nav units will be replaced by Dual AeroNav 910 GPS/FMS/WAAS/LPV units.
Due to its size, layout, and simplistic amenities, the Beechjet 400A can have a fairly low-cost and easy refit. Our team works closely with some of the top professionals in the industry to help complete these refits.
